Beautifully situated trout farm. We like to go for a walk in the forest and then get fresh trout. Staff is friendly and kind. The fish is great. Pre-ordering also goes smoothly if you want a smoked salmon trout. Selection is also great. Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the restaurant, as we have only used fish sales so far.

Walked over from the Hohemark in bright sunshine. An easy hike. Bought fresh smoked trout for dinner. Normally you could have eaten right there. Looking forward to the future and eating it on site.

Idyllically located in the forest, the Forellengut offers a great opportunity to fetch freshly caught fish, to watch the wild boars and then take a nice walk in the forest.

Fresh fish, also the smoked one was a pleasure! I will visit again more often!

Despite Corona, I managed to get two seats, only a short wait until the table was free. We ate delicious fried trout with fried potatoes, butter and creamed horseradish, before that there was a delicious green salad. You should make reservations for the weekend, however.

The food was very good, only the organization of the rest is a disaster. We had to order the food twice and still didn't get the salmon trout we wanted but a normal one. The drinks were also a long time coming.

Very good roasted trout in the middle of the Taunus Forest with wonderful late summer weather. Corona rules applied well, just not in the children's playground ..

You can get the best trout in the Main Taunus district there. The service is courteous. The place is idyllic in summer. You can do a great HIKE through the forest beforehand.

Great salad, great potatoes, fish is a bit bland (how can the fish be bland in a fish-based restaurant??).

My wife and I always combine buying fresh or smoked fish for lunch or dinner with a hike. I've known the trout farm since childhood. It is a wonderful place in the middle of the forest. We love going there.

Fish doesn't get fresher in Frankfurt. The trout comes straight from the pond and is on the plate a few minutes later. And afterwards smoked fish to take away. And then there's a boar to look at and incredible rhododendron bushes.

The fish can't be fresher. A few meat dishes are available and are quite good if someone in your group does not eat fish. It is very popular to go to the Taunus Information Zentrum by car or train and walk 30 minutes to Forellengut. It is a pleasant, level walk. Expect to wait on pleasant days and reserve ahead for larger groups.

The different types of fish are really good tasting and the service is wonderful.

The fishes tast was amazing. And the employee serve us longer as they must because the restaurent closed already.

Great county-style food, with self produced fish and boar meat. The location is also in a lovely hunting lodge. Be aware of the opening times, only on weekends and during the day, living queue with no reservation. There also fish can be bought. You can also have a look at the farm. Payment only cash! Don’t forget to enjoy the walk through the forest nearby.

This is an amazing place just in the middle of the Taunus forest. It is a place where the time seems to have stopped. The peculiarity is that this restaurant is on the water basins where trouts are bred. Essentially this is a trout farm with a restaurant serving super fresh fish coming from the farm so it is definitively the go to place for super fresh fish. The interior of the restaurant looks like a hunting lodge which makes the experience even more peculiar. The menu is clearly all fish based. The staff is friendly and very kind. Do not attempt at making a reservation which is not possible and if you want to go there just be patient because there will surely be some waiting time. Also, no chance to pay with credit cards and there is not ATM in the forest...so make sure you have some cash with you! Overall prices are fair. After lunch a little promenade in the forest is also recommended.

A beautiful day we had, walked around the place and the wood around. A very nice place where you can take your dog (lined on) and see if there is any offspring. ;) we had many luck. ???❤

A large trout farm with its smokehouse, where you can find not only trout smoked but also eel and zander and even sterlet. There is also a small restaurant where you can taste hot fish and meat dishes. In this case, there are their boars. Beautiful territory with a well-kept garden. Very interesting for adults and children, but there are a lot of people out there. Perfect place!

great fish, be prepared to wait for a table, it gets extremely busy. the woods that surround the place are worth exploring, a nice half day out of the city.

Cute old-style German restaurant specialising in fish and wild boar. Very tasty and authentic, although extremely packed – I couldn't turn around without hitting someone with my elbows.
